Meat is Bad for You and A Green Juice / La Carne fa Male e Una Centrifuga Verde

IMG_5635My husband Antonio stopped by the house at lunchtime yesterday with eyes wide in disbelief. A few minutes prior to his arrival, as he perused his favorite news sites, he came across a report by the “OMS” (Italy calls the WHO, the OMS- it took me a while to figure that one out), linking meat to cancer risk.

Our subsequent conversation went as follows:

Antonio: Amore. (Baby.)

Morgan: Ciao. (Hey.)

Antonio: Ma amore, la carne fa male. (Babe, meat is bad for you.)

Morgan: Ma va? (No, duh.)

Antonio: Mi fai qualcosa tua sana? (Will you make me one of those healthy things you make?)

Morgan: (smiles. walks to the juicer.)

“La carne fa male” Green Juice

Ingredients:

  • 1 small head of broccoli (or less- broccoli is pretty bitter when juiced)
  • 1 fennel bulb
  • 1 kiwi
  • 1 green apple
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 small zucchini
  • 1 white beet

Directions:

Juice (and let the healing begin!)
