Five Senses Smoothie Bowl

I once heard that cooking is the only art that employs all five senses: taste, touch, smell, sound and sight.

I don’t remember who it was that told me this and in what context, but it stuck.

I truly think that there is something beautiful about preparing food- utilizing all the methods of perception that humans have been equipped with.

Below is the recipe for a smoothie bowl I made the other day.

While I was preparing it, I became so aware of the process and all that was involved that I sort of lost myself in it.

It was almost like sensory overload…

The smoothie itself was delicious. And if I may, the bowl quite aesthetically pleasing as well!
