Tahini Spinach Smoothie Bowl
I recently discovered the use of tahini (sesame seeds ground into a cream) in smoothies. I suppose it makes sense is that I have been using nut butters for a while but it took me some time to come across this one.
That being said, I find that the balance between cruciferous greens and nut/seed butters in smoothies is a match made in heaven.
Therefore, I went ahead and created this smoothie bowl. Perfectly sweet and not too intense for a relaxing Sunday morning.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup full-fat coconut milk (I am sure reduced fat works as well)
- 2 large handfuls baby spinach
- 1 1/2 tbsp tahini
- 3 dates
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1/2 tbsp flax seeds
Toppings:
- swirled tahini
- raw cocoa nibs
- goji berries
Instructions:
- Blend the smoothie ingredients (I used my Vitamix)
- Pour and top
- Serve and enjoy!!!
